PROTECT YOUR SPINE. BE FITTER, STRONGER AND MORE FLEXIBLE.
Clinical Pilates has been proven to protect the spine from injury by improving the strength and activation of the abdominal core. Becoming aware of subtle changes in posture allows you to train your core to work alongside your back, hip and gluteal (bum) muscles. This can prevent injury to the spine during lifting, bending and during exercise.
There are some other great benefits to Clinical Pilates too:

During the first session you will discover your body's strengths and weaknesses and we will formulate a plan to correct any functional imbalances we find.
Then we will cover the basics which must first be mastered before moving on to more advanced exercises. If you are a complete beginner this normally takes one or two sessions to achieve but for those with more experience it may just be a few minutes. Clinical Pilates is evidence-based. Studies show that when performed three times per week significant improvements are made. You may choose to cluster your sessions together for faster results. This approach is recommended to those people who are too busy to find the time or find it difficult to get motivated to do exercises on your own. If you are motivated and wish to make the most of your sessions you will be perfectly fine having one session per week and performing two shorter sessions in your own time. This approach is recommended to those with some experience. Private group sessions: If you or your friends have a suitably large space you can opt for a private group session. The benefits of small groups is it can be good for motivating each other and it costs a bit less per person. This is only suitably for 2 to 6 people and you must be at a very similar level of ability. Private group sessions may also be booked to take place at St George's Hall which is where the weekly group classes take place. |
