OVERVIEW AND PRICING:
NEW PLACE. NEW RULES.
We have a new pricing structure and booking system which will take full effect from APRIL 2019.
Previously you had the option of paying per class by showing up on the day or buying a block of 6 consecutive classes at a reduced rate. Both of these have now been modified. You can still pay as you go, however, you will be required to buy an individual pass and make a reservation online. And the block of 6 has been modified too. Classes will run continuously throughout the year so there will be no more 6-week courses.
Instead, you will have the option to buy a PASS or MEMBERSHIP (limited quantity) which will provide you with a set number of classes / credits to be used within a longer period of time. There are various options which are explained later. Your pass could last for 3 months or up to 12 months and could reduce the price per class to as little as £8, depending on the option you choose. Your decision should be based on how often you wish to attend and how much you are happy to spend as an up-front payment.
The system is great. It's not without its drawbacks, most notably the up-front payment which may be off-putting to some. But on balance this is a far better and fairer system. It is also much more flexible than before... insert your own Pilates pun here!
The cost of an individual class is £12. BUT the good news is, it’s unlikely you will ever need to pay for an individual class. Unless you really are a very occasional user. The PASS / MEMBERSHIP system will encourage you to buy up-front and therefore save overall. This should also encourage you do do Pilates more regularly, which is when you will really begin to notice the benefits.
The most popular option is the TOTAL CORE 20 PASS which reduces the price per class to £9. So saving £3 per class. But you can buy in blocks of 5, 10, 20 or 40. All have different expiry times and an incrementally reduced price per class.
For a handful of people- those who wish to attend 3 or more JOINT SPACE classes (PILATES and / or YOGA) per week- there will be a handful of MEMBERSHIPS available which could reduce the price per class to as little as £6.
IMPORTANT REMINDER: CLASSES ARE NO LONGER RESTRICTED TO A 6 WEEK BLOCK
This means no more wasted classes and far better value for you.
ALL CLASSES MUST BE BOOKED AHEAD. You will not be able to show up and pay on the door as before. The whole point is that you book online so we can see the number of remaining spots. Even if it's just a one-off pass. Otherwise we cannot guarantee there will be space for you in the class!
CLASSES will be restricted to 10-12 places* unless stated on the booking timetable. But you WILL be charged / deducted a class from your pass if you fail to show up without officially cancelling your place within 24hrs. This is very simple, just go to the online timetable and cancel (the same way you will book) or (if you really can’t do this) contact me directly and I should be able to do it for you. To be clear, the penalty for non-cancellation is an automated function of the booking system and is actually very fair.
There is also a waiting list function as part of the booking system. So if you cancel in time, those on the waiting list will be automatically notified and have the opportunity to take your place. We need this function to work in order to operate as close to capacity as we can with the limited class numbers. So if you could try to cancel well before 24 hours we would be very grateful…! Even if you have missed the 24hr cut off it is still advisable that you cancel you place. You will still be debited a credit from your pass but if your place is then advertised to the waiting list and someone else successfully takes your place, we may be able to offer you an extra credit for a reduced fee.
Full details on the cancellation policy are found on the waiver form which must be signed if you wish to continue attending. This form will be sent to you once you have created an account.
*Some classes may occasionally be accidentally over-subscribed so we reserve the right to teach a class with an extra couple of mats. This will be very infrequent if at all. It’s just to be clear.
PASSES / MEMBERSHIPS AND PRICES:
We want want to make this process as simple as possible but anything new can sometimes be a challenge! So if you are still unsure please feel free to contact me directly. I would be happy to help.
PILATES 1- £12 / pay-per-class
PILATES 5- £55 / 3 months expiry
PILATES 10- £100 / 6 months expiry
TOTAL CORE 20- £180 / 9 months expiry
TOTAL CORE 40- £320 / 12 months expiry
Once you are on the booking site (see the HOW TO BOOK section below) you can click on the PASS that interests you and there is lots more information about that specific pass there. This should help you decide. Please also read the HOW TO DECIDE section below.
The number shown after the pass name denotes the number of classes this pass is worth. For example, the PILATES 10 is worth 10 classes / credits. It costs £100. So the PRICE-PER-CLASS is £10. You can see it has a 6 months expiry period from the first time it is used. With all our passes, you will be notified when you only have 2 classes remaining and when the pass is nearly expired.
For those of you also interested in yoga, several YOGA PASSES are also available directly from the individual instructors. But if you are interested in doing a combination of YOGA AND PILATES then a TOTAL CORE PASS will work out better value as these passes can be used on ALL classes taught at THE JOINT SPACE. The TOTAL CORE passes can also be used solely on Pilates and still work out better value. It is just an added feature that they can be used for yoga classes also. We are nice like that...!
The most popular PASS is the TOTAL CORE 20. This costs £180 upfront and lasts for 9 months. It reduces the cost to £9 per class. It can be used for ALL classes at THE JOINT SPACE. If you want to save further then the TOTAL CORE 40 is the best value pass, reducing the price per class to just £8. You also get 12 months to use your 40 classes so more than enough time if you only plan to do one per week.
The PILATES 5 / 10 PASSES come with less commitment and various expiry times. They can also ONLY be used on PILATES. These passes are ideal for those of you who either a) don’t want to pay so much up-front or b) only want to attend once every 2 or 3 weeks.
ADDITIONAL FEATURE: the TOTAL CORE 20 / 40 PASSES have the advantage of being able to reserve a regular place in your preferred classes. So you don’t have to remember to book in each week. You will still need to remember to cancel when you are not going to attend. This auto-book function is NOT available with the PILATES 5 / 10 or YOGA 5 / 10 PASSES.
This is something we are trialing for a handful of more regular users of THE JOINT SPACE. Our MEMBERSHIP includes access to ALL PILATES AND YOGA classes, subject to availability. If you know you want to do several classes per week then you can pay monthly for a 15-class per month JOINT SPACE DISCIPLE MEMBERSHIP which further reduces the price per class whilst also reducing the monthly cost compared to what you may spend by using a PASS to attend so frequently. We will have to restrict the number of memberships for now to just 5 in total. More may become available at a later time.
Please appreciate that compared to a regular gym membership this may seem expensive. We know! But we are not a regular gym… with limited numbers of classes and restrictions on class numbers we cannot offer a lower fee or more membership places at this stage. So just work it out as an average price-per-use and see if realistically you will benefit from this offer. Then get a groove on and snap one up...
JOINT SPACE DISCIPLE - £90 / 15 classes per month
MEMBERSHIPS renew monthly, a lot like a mobile phone data contract. If you don’t use your data (in this case classes) then they will be lost and automatically renew at the start of each month. If you want to “roll-over your data” so to speak, then this is what the PASS system is designed for- you never pay for more than you use but the price per class is a little more compared to MEMBERSHIP.
You will need to commit to a 3 month initial MEMBERSHIP period, after which time the membership will continue on a monthly rolling basis and can be cancelled if desired. A one month notice period is required for cancellations.
HOW TO DECIDE:
If you are a regular user but (like many of you) just intend to do PILATES once a week, then a PASS would be your best option. We would strongly recommend a TOTAL CORE 20 or 40 PASS because the price per class is better. But also you can reserve a regular space in your preferred class. I would only recommend a PILATES 10 PASS if you are not going to make it very often or do not wish to pay so much up-front. You can also just pay for a PILATES 5 if you prefer. An individual PILATES CLASS can be purchased by simply clicking on the class you want to attend - that's if you really are unsure about a PASS. Your decision should be based on how often you wish to attend and how much you are happy to spend as an up-front payment. The PRICE-PER-CLASS is a very useful guide.
If you are seriously interested in doing 3 or more classes per week (especially if you want to do a combination of PILATES and YOGA) then you may wish to consider a MEMBERSHIP. But a PASS may also be preferable to you. It really depends on what you think will suit you best...
As an example: to do 2 or 3 classes per week the average cost will be £16-30 per week or £70-130 per month. So this person may benefit from the MEMBERSHIP if they are likely to actually do at least 8-12 classes per month. The other option would be to pay for a larger TOTAL CORE 40 PASS which will reduce the price per class to £8.
PLEASE NOTE: PILATES is a bit more expensive than YOGA so if you ONLY want to do YOGA (traitor!) then the TOTAL CORE 20/40 PASSES are not cost effective. Unless you buy a TOTAL CORE 40 and then you can still get the class you want for £8. The TOTAL CORE PASSES are really aimed at those doing either just Pilates or a combination of both Yoga and Pilates.
The advantage of a MEMBERSHIP is the lower up-front cost compared to a TOTAL CORE PASS plus the relatively cheaper price per class if you use most of your credits.
The advantage to the PASS is flexibility over time- the reduced likelihood of “wasting“ your membership if you only end up doing 4-6 classes one month. The PASS is a safer option but requires an up-front fee. But if you do more than 2 classes per week the membership is worth considering as it may be better value for you.
Another advantage to a PASS is that it has some added features. It can be also be used for couples or family. So you could open an account between you** and share the cost of a better value pass.

If you purchase a PASS for yourself you can sign in twice to a class- using two of your credits. So, for example, if you have a friend or family member visiting for the week and they want to come to a class with you, they don’t have to purchase their own pass. You can just book 2 places in that class. Then they can pay you. Or not. It depends how much you like them…!

HOW TO PURCHASE A PASS / BOOK ONLINE:
There are only 3 things you need to do:
SIGN UP, BUY A PASS & BOOK A CLASS
First follow the link to the booking site or hit the BOOK A CLASS button at the bottom of the page:
Once here you will see these options (you may need to click or tap on the menu button):
PURCHASE A PASS SCHEDULE SIGN IN / CREATE ACCOUNT
You don’t actually need to sign in to purchase a pass but you will be prompted to sign in to book a class / reserve your spot. So at some point you will need to CREATE AN ACCOUNT. My recommendation would be to create an account first.
If you choose to purchase a pass before you create an account PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU USE THE SAME EMAIL ADDRESS TO SIGN IN AS YOU USED TO BUY YOUR PASS otherwise your pass will not link to your account!
Once you have purchased a pass you can return to the menu and select SCHEDULE. Here you will see all the classes scheduled over the next few months. Depending on the device you are using you will have the option to toggle between a list or calendar view of the schedule. It will display the name / time of the class, the difficulty level (1-5) as well as the class length and the name of the instructor. It will also show the number of available spots remaining. Simply click or tap on the class you want to book and reserve your spot! If the class is full you can request to be added to the waiting list and you will be notified if any cancellations occur.
PLEASE NOTE: it is IMPORTANT YOU DO THIS!! To avoid confusion, if you click on a class and you are not signed in or do not have an active pass or membership, you will be prompted to sign in and buy your PASS of choice. But you MUST STILL RETURN to the SCHEDULE page and reserve your spot. This is the only way your place in class will be guaranteed. It is very clear if you have already reserved a spot in class because the system tells you when you are looking at a class. Or if you click or tap on HOME at the top of the booking page, you will see your account information including what passes you own, which classes you have booked and which classes you have already attended.
Now that you have successfully created an account, bought a pass and booked a class, all you will have to do in future is sign in and book the classes you want. Don’t forget you will need to remember to cancel classes within 24hrs, which is just as easy as booking the class. You will also need to purchase a new pass whenever your existing pass expires.
